GENERAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANELS AND DISTRIBUTION BOARDS CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES

The Switchboards are of totally enclosed, floor mounted, free standing Cubicle type, Dust and Vermin proof, readily extensible on both sides with compartmentalized design made up of requisite vertical sections, which when coupled together form continuous dead front switchboards suitable for operating on 415 Volts 3 Phase 4 wire 50 Hz AC Supply to withstand 50 KA fault level or even more as per customer requirement. Control Power Supply of the Switchboards is 240 Volts, 1 Phase, 50 Hz AC Supply or as per Custom requirement conforming to IS 8623 (Part I) 1993. The Switchboards are designed for operation in high ambient temperature and high humidity tropical atmospheric conditions, with access to the feeders, busbars, cable alley from front to facilitate ease of inspection, cleaning and repairs, for use in installations where continuity of operation is of prime importance. The Switchboards manufactured by us comply with all de-rating factors necessary to all Switchgear components and the busbars of the Switchboard complies with the conditions detailed in the specifications. The Switchboards are constructed with materials capable of withstanding the mechanical, electrical and thermal stresses as well as the effects of humidity, which are likely to be encountered in normal service. All insulating materials used in the construction of the equipment are non-hygroscopic, duly treated to withstand the effects of high humidity and high temperature tropical ambient service conditions.
Doors, side covers, top and bottom sheets are provided with Neoprene gaskets to make the Panel dust and vermin proof. All Doors/Covers providing access to live power equipment / circuits are provided with tool operated fasteners to prevent un authorized access.

Manufacturing of panels is planned and executed under controlled conditions to ensure quality of products.

We mainly give a quality system at every stage of fabrication and assembling. We will use only reputed makes switchgears which will meet customer’s points.

In process materials are inspected and tested as per quality. Production process is carried out as planned and executed under controlled conditions to ensure the quality of outgoing products. Providing good service in AMC’s along with retrofitting of panels at client premises.

BUSBARS

The Busbars are air insulated and made of high conductivity, high strength aluminium alloy complying with the requirements of grade E91E of IS 5082 of 1981 and suitable for 415 Volts 4 wire 50 Hz system. The busbars and connections are suitably supported with non-hygroscopic FRP/SMC/DMC supports to provide fault withstand capacity as per requirement.

The busbars are liberally sized and are of uniform cross section throughout the length of the Panel and are capable of carrying the rated current at 415 Volts continuously. The busbars are designed to withstand a temperature rise of 45 to 50 deg. C

Above the ambient as per specific requirement of Clients / Consultants. Generally, unless otherwise specified by Clients we assume a current density of 1.0 Amp / Sqmm for
Aluminium busbars and 1.6 Amps / Sqmm for Copper busbars. All bus connections, joints and taps are short and as straight as possible and are applied with contact grease in the mating surface. The main horizontal busbar running throughout the length of the panel is accessible.

For maintenance from the front as well as rear. Busbar chamber is provided with separately screwed covers. All busbars, links etc., are provided with insulating cover to prevent accidental contacts. Generally unless other wise specified the neutral busbars are rated for 50% of phase busbars. Busbars are encased in colour coded heat shrunk PVC sleeves. An aluminium / Copper earth bus of required size is run throughout the length of switchboard at top or bottom as required.

CONTROL WIRING

All Control wiring is carried out with 1.1 kv grade PVC insulated flexible Copper wires confirming to IS 694 having stranded copper conductors of minimum 1.5 Sqmm section for potential circuits and 2.5 Sqmm section for current carrying circuits. Wiring is neatly bunched, adequately supported and properly routed for easy access and maintenance. Wires are identified by numbered ferrules at each end. The ferrules are
of non deteriorating material. They are firmly located on each wire so as to prevent free movement. All control circuit fuse / MCBs are mounted in the front panel and is easily accessible.

LABELS

Labels shall be of anodized aluminium or Stickers with white engraving on black background. They shall be properly secured with fasteners.

ASSEMBLY & WIRING SHOP

Painted frames are brought to the assembly shop and components are fitted as per drawings. Panels are provided with busbars with supports and wired for both power and control wiring as per approved drawings and tested properly by our testing engineer before offering for clients / consultants inspection.

a) Standards are set for stage wise inspection of entire process and to ensure that quality of each and every process is checked thoroughly.
b) After incoming material inspection and necessary stage wise inspection, when panel is completed it is given final inspection and test to establish overall quality and perfection.
c) Megger, High Voltage 2.5KV Megger is followed by functional test as per approved drawings of the consultant / client.
d) After inspection is cleared, it is packed with polythene sheet covering with nylon strapping and dispatched to the client. Wherever required we are providing with wooden crating.

We are glad to mention here that we have type tested the following Panels at CPRI for short circuit and IP
55 Degree of Protection for enclosure and copies of the Type Test Certificates issued by CPRI, Bangalore is
enclosed for your ready reference.
